Former Manchester City striker Uwe Rosler has been appointed the new manager of League

Brentford turned to a 42-year-old German after St Johnstone manager Derek McInnes rejected for the opportunity to Former Manchester City striker Uwe Rosler has been appointed the new manager of League One Brentford on a two-year deal replace interim boss Nicky Forster last month.

Rosler's previous management experience was gained in Norway with in Lillestrom, Viking Stavanger and most recently Molde, where he was replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last November and he was a popular figure at City, scoring 65 goals in four years with the club during the mid-1990s.

Rosler also played for the Southampton and West Brom before he is playing career ended and  he was diagnosed with cancer in May 2003, and he took his coaching badges while in remission.

Veteran striker Forster led the Bees to an 11th-placed finish after taking over from Andy Scott, who was axed in February, but he has since left the club after being and he wastold he would not be considered for the permanent job and the Former Man City striker confirmed as manager of Brentford.
