Celtic Manager Neil Lennon Prioritising Old Firm Derby in the SPL Over Europa League Clash against Atletico Madrid.

The Hoops are in the continental competition due to Uefa disallowing Sion from participating in a tournament and the boss still intends to focus on the Old Firm derby and the Celtic manager Neil Lennon is prioritising the Old Firm derby this weekend over the Europa League clash against Atletico Madrid.

Glaswegian club are in the European competition despite losing a qualifier for a opponents Sion were disqualified from participating in the tournament by Uefa and the former Bhoys skipper did not want to risk Scott Brown in Spain as the midfielder is recovering from an ankle injury and Anthony Stokes is also sidelined due to a thigh problem.

Brown has an ongoing ankle problem and if he has any chance of playing on Sunday was just as well to leave him at home Lennon said to reporters and the i think he has a good chance of playing against Rangers maybe 80 per cent of a priority is the championship and we have a huge game on Sunday.

A fit Scott Brown would be very important for us especially in a fixture as physical and high tempo as an Old Firm game and you saw what he gave to Scotland playing in that 4-5-1 system against Czech Republic recently and he likes that role and has qualities in terms of his athleticism and reading of the game of he is important to us and now as a Lennon feels that the game in Spain sees his side as underdogs and said, My job is to focus on the football and the players and coming out of here the pressure is not on us for a change as we are going into the game as underdogs.
