Former Midfielder Zoltan Gera Has Returned to West Brom on a Two-Year Contract After Deciding to Leave Fulham

Gera seals Baggies return and he has Hodgson happy to secure Hungarian midfielder on a free transfer and West Bromwich Albion have finalised a deal to bring former midfielder Zoltan Gera back to The Hawthorns after he left Premier League rivals Fulham.

Gera scored 25 goals in 155 appearances during 4 years in the Baggies before moving to a Fulham on the free transfer in 2008 and he has opted against renewing his contract at the Craven Cottage in favour of a return to West Brom, who are now managed by his former Fulham boss Roy Hodgson.

The Hungarian has signed a 2 year contract and the option of a further 12 months in the Baggies' favour, and Hodgson is delighted to capture the 32-year-old and "Having decided not to renew his contract at Fulham, Zoltan has come back to a club where he started his career in England," Hodgson told the club's official website.

International career for a Gera earned his first international cap on 13 February 2002 in a 2–1 defeat to Switzerland and Until 2009 he played a total of 63 games in the Hungarian national football team, scoring 18 goals and before the 14 October 2009 World Cup and qualification match between Denmark and Hungary, Gera was excluded from the match squad by the coach Erwin Koeman after he arrived late to a team meeting and following the incident Gera announced his retirement from the national team.
