Manchester City Manager Roberto Mancini Claims Kevin Phillips 'Dived' To Win Birmingham City Equaliser

Manchester City director Roberto Mancini slammed the decision of arbitrator Kevin Friend to award a penalty which in the end cost his side two points as they drew 2-2 with Birmingham City at St Andrews.

City, who was leading good manners of an Aleksander Kolarov free-kick in the first half which follow Carlos Tevez's early hit and Nikola Zigic's equaliser, were pegged back when Kevin Phillips was cut down by Patrick Vieira in the area, giving Craig Gardner an possibility to equalize from the spot.

Speaking to journalists after the game, including Goal.com's Ian Murphy, Mancini admit he was upset but claimed that Phillips had 'dived' in pigeonhole to win the penalty.
