Iker Casillas On Champions League Lyon and Cristiano Ronaldo

Iker Casillas, along with the Clinica Menorca Foundation, have given out presents for around 500 needy children yesterday (17/12). On the event, the Real Madrid captain spare his time to discuss about Champions League draw, and team relationship.

"Lyon are a serious opponent who we have to respect, especially after last year when everyone thought Real Madrid were going to go through to the quarterfinals, which wasn't the case. We've got past experience, albeit bad, but now we must be prudent and respect Lyon."

"We are looking forward to Lyon because they eliminated us last year, but we don't feel a sense of revenge as if it was a life or death matter. It is an important match for us if we are to overcome that hurdle, but we must respect our opponent as eliminated us last year although they may have appeared to be the weaker side."

"There are people who try to create controversy and a bad atmosphere within the team when in fact it is just the opposite. Cristiano and I get along very well. We come from different places, but it doesn't mean we are distant or have confrontations. Quite the opposite. There are no groups or clicks here. There is a great atmosphere. We are a young group and we get along. There are good vibes all around. We must move on and not be concerned about such stupidities."

Messi or Cristiano?

"I agree with Di Stefano that my teammates is the best,"said Iker.

He also gave his opinion about tomorrow's match.

"We have plenty of players to step in on defense. Albiol can play as a center back or right back, Arbeloa can play on either side... We are not at all worried about Sunday."

"Sergio and I had lunch with the top brass on Thursday to discuss how the season is unfolding. It's good that the president sits down with the captains every so often to hear our side of things and to see how things are going."
