Roof Collapse at FC Twente's De Grolsch Veste stadium in on Thursday and Police to investigate collapse

Probe launched after worker is killed in stadium roof tragedy and the Dutch police have launched a criminal investigation into the roof collapse at FC Twente's De Grolsch Veste stadium.

Part of the stadium's roof caved in on Thursday, killing one construction worker and injuring 15 others and the incident occurred while renovation work was being carried out to add a new tier of seating to a stadium and Police have formed a special team of investigators to establish whether any crime led to the collapse at the venue, which is situated on a outskirts of the Enschede.

It was confirmed on Friday that one of the injured is still in critical condition, while six other people remain hospitalised and the investigators are appealing for amateur video to help piece together how the roof suddenly fell is thought Eredivisie side Twente will be forced to play of their upcoming UEFA Champions League qualifying round games at  neighbouring ground.

Vitesse Arnhem's GelreDome and the Veltins Arena, home of Bundesliga side Schalke, both lie around 100km away from Twente's stadium and the Twente chairman Joop Munsterman told AD of the club's relationship with Schalke the two clubs can get along and, in the case of an emergency and they help each other.
