The Real boss was handed the punishment of his actions during the ill-tempered UEFA Champions League semi-final for a first leg against Barcelona at a Bernabeu and the Portuguese coach was sent to the stands for his reaction to a Pepe's dismissal and launched into a tirade against Barca during the post-match press conference.
He has already indicated his intention to a take his case for this Court of Arbitration for Sport, if necessary, but first his club have sought a rethink from Uefa.
A statement on a governing body's official website read: "Real Madrid have appealed against the disciplinary verdict handed down to Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho five-match touchline ban by the Uefa control and disciplinary body on May 6, and relating to the Uefa Champions League semi-final first leg between Real Madrid and Barcelona in Madrid on April 27.
Jose Mourinho appeal follows the sending by Uefa of a reasoned decision on June 6 and the date of the hearing will be communicated in due course."
