FIFA is pleased to announce that 400 clubs affiliated from 55 Member Associations around of a globe are set to obtain a share of a benefits from the successful staging of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
On 14 March 2008 is the FIFA Executive Committee agreed to set aside provisions of USD 40 million and 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa and USD 70 million of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil in order to recognise and the important part of a clubs play in a success of the FIFA World Cup.
The payments following the 2010 FIFA World Cup in south africa were distributed via the Member Associations of the clubs and 736 players who participated in the final competition.
A club’s share of a USD 40 million was calculated by the reference to a number of the players from club who were selected for their representative team for a final competition of the 2010 FIFA World Cup south africa and the number of the days each player was at 2010 FIFA World Cup south africa.
