Group G: Brazil, Portugal, Ivory Coast, North Korea
2010 FIFA World Cup: I feel sorry for soccer fans from North Korea. After miraculously qualifying for the FIFA World Cup 2010, the world’s No. 105 ranked team was placed in Group G to face Brazil, Portugal, and Côte d’Ivoire.
Group G is the clear Group of Death. Brazil and Portugal are FIFA’s No. 1 as well as No. 3 teams, and Côte d’Ivoire was undefeated in qualifying and North Korea’s sole purpose is to provide the Big Three with valuable goal differential.
Brazil is the only country to appear in every World Cup, and it has won the tournament 5 times. Coach Carlos Dunga left strikers Ronaldinho and Adriano off the squad in an effort to shake up the team after a subpar 2006 tournament, however Brazil is still the only lock to advance.
