Portugal played very poorly on their previous 2 group matches, when they got defeated over Norway(1-0) and a draw with Cyprus(4-4) in away matches. But it was before the Captain Portugal came to the rescue. Cris clearly boost the team spirit, when he made an assist for Nani's, who managed to turn it into Portugal first goal in 29th minute.
And 2 minutes later, Nani scored his second, 2-0 for Portugal. Unfortunately, Ricardo Carvalho made a suicide goal in minute 79th, but thanks to the Real Madrid winger, Cris saved Portugal to collect a full 3 points with a goal in 85th minute. 3-1 for Portugal.
With this victory, Portugal climbs on second place with total 4 points in 3 matches. But they still 5 points behind Norway, who collects 9 points with 3 victories on 3 matches.
