Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is adamant that Arsene Wenger is "the most excellent manager in the world" and is still the correct man to bring silverware back for the Gunners.

After another period without a cup there has been heaviness placed on the Frenchman, and smooth some condemnation from sections of the Gunners fans, but Szczesny admitted he can’t believe anyone is curious his manager’s methods.

“It is preposterous. If you ask any of the players, they will set by the manager,” he said, according to the Daily Mail.

“He builds this thing from nothing and I believe he is the top manager in the world.

“He puts his standing on the line with juvenile players.”

Arsenal’s season has hinged on person mistakes which have cost the club any possibility of securing a trophy - and Szczesny wasn't resistant, making his own in the League Cup final - but the keeper insisted the players were bearing the blame as a group.
