Blues clinch Spector deal and Hughton feels USA defender will be a big asset

Birmingham City have completed the signing of former West Ham United defender Jonathan Spector on a free transfer and has signed a two-year contract at Birmingham and is expected to be a 'big asset'.

The versatile 25-year-old, who can also play in midfield, arrives at St Andrew's on a 2 year deal and becoming boss Chris Hughton's seventh signing of this window and the USA international spent 5 years in the Hammers before being released this summer and Hughton feels he will be a big asset and the "Jonathan is a player who has got experience of playing in the Premier League and as an international for America so he has good credentials," Hughton told the club's official website.
